People. Planet. Profit. It all matters, and we can’t just pick one. The Sustainable Development Goals implore us to come together with our biggest hearts and minds and to do what must be done in order to eradicate poverty, protect the environment and empower people and communities. Without trying to be too dramatic…To sustain our future existence!
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals seeks to strengthen global partnerships to support and achieve the ambitious targets of the 2030 Agenda, bringing together national governments, the international community, civil society, the private sector and other actors. Despite advances in certain areas, more needs to be done to accelerate progress. (source: UN.org)
This is the goal that reminds us that we must work together and collaborate if we are truly going to achieve the Global Goals 2030. Everyone has great ideas, opportunities and solutions to bring forward. Working together and sharing these ideas is essential in advancing and accelerating the great work that is already underway.
That is why I am so looking forward to being surrounded by, learning from & interacting with passionate, sustainably motivated leaders and innovators at the upcoming 2019 Flagship Sustainable Brands Conference in Detroit in June.
On June 4th @ 11 am, I am honored to join other thought leaders and doers during our breakout session panel to talk in more detail about Prioritizing and Scaling Corporate Action on the UN SDGs.
